With bronze sculptures, epoxy reliefs, jewelry and small ceramic plaques, my show appears to be going in different directions, but there is a commonality: as a sculptor I am a modeler. Wax, epoxy and clay are all malleable substances that I can manipulate and coax into the shapes I want. Modeling in warm wax is the first step in the lost wax casting process that produced both the sculptures and the jewelry pendants. The pendants are mini wearable sculptures. Whatever the medium, each piece is one-of-a-kind. My favorite subject matter is animals; portrayed as well are inanimate objects and human images. Humor and fantasy are evident in many of these pieces so if you find a perplexed pug amid Portland graffiti, my intention is to amuse you. Also look for a chair giving birth and a queen “not being amused.”
