This body of work started as a fun challenge to use up things I have long collected, for my assemblage sculpture art ....that was taking over my studio. I wanted to make the giant animals that we need to protect, and for people to interact with rhinos, elephants and giraffes! And create a fun joyful body of work, as we heal from a challenging year. Let's play and learn to smile again. Most of the sculptures are interactive and have a movable quality to them. A combination of carved wood, clay, metal, glass ,found objects and paint, are incorporated into each one of a kind sculpture. The Art always ends up teaching me something about myself. I am resilient. My voice and all art matter’s! And let’s think more about the animals we share the planet with.”
