November 2009: Sara Swink & Linda Womack
Sara Swink works in clay, making human and animal forms with a psychological stance. This body of work, “Empowered Objects”, addresses the human tendency to imbue objects with symbolic meaning and magical power. Each unique piece is playfully delivered with dash of humor.
Linda Womack creates lush encaustic paintings. Her surfaces are rich with texture and surprises buried just below the surface. Linda’s work pairs modern digital photography with the ancient technique of encaustic painting. Beeswax, resin and pigment are layered to produce a deep, translucent surface that captures and reflects light.
