“In the 30 plus years I have been beading I have come to appreciate the wide variety of art that can be created with beads. Beads in their many sizes, colors and materials are used for jewelry, sculptures, vessels, paintings and more. I work primarily with small glass seed beads using an off-loom technique known as peyote stitch. Many of my pieces are made by beading over natural materials such as driftwood, bamboo, antlers and river rocks, as well as vases, urns and other objects. I love working with color to create vibrant designs which are all free-form and individually unique. I derive much inspiration from modern and ancient beadwork including Egyptian, African and Native American cultures, as well as from the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.”
