“My most recent paintings concern the relationship between humanity and nature. I’m interested in the stark contrast between the natural world and the technology based environment that our culture has chosen to live in. My interest in part comes from the fact that I have been traveling back and forth from Portland to Central America all my adult life. My wife and own a farm in Costa Rica and my immersion in the tropical flora and fauna there has made me aware of the stark difference between the transcendent beauty of nature and the excess and superficiality, of modern society.”
