January 2013: Shelly Caldwell

Shelly Caldwell wil be showing her recent mixed media assemblages. I am attracted to the weather worn, the lost and left out. I believe these objects gain in value and intrigue what they have lost in purpose and definition.  I’m motivated not only by the beauty I see in these ruined objects but by the challenge of creating a cohesive narrative with them. The stories I tell through my art are not rigid, but implied.  I want to be able to show what might be.
