January 2013: Judith Biesanz & Ryan Selby
Judith Biesanz oil paintings are large and saturated with color and atmosphere. Judith explains her paintings best: “I’m fascinated by dreams, and I spend a lot of time thinking about and interpreting them, and trying to unearth what is going on in my subconscious. The motif- the (young) figure in the water- parallels many dreams I’ve had about this subject.
Ryan Selby is an emerging artist creating blown glass sculpture. He gains inspiration from Venetian glass forms while also considering elements of contemporary design to create aesthetically pleasing, non-representational sculpture. Form and use of color are both important aspects in Ryan’s work. The double-neck series are tall, elegant, contemporary blown glass sculptures.
