February 2022: Columbia Basin Basketry Guild Show

The Columbia Basin Basketry Guild was formed in 1989 by a small group of basket enthusiasts from the Portland and Vancouver area so that basket makers could share ideas, information, and techniques with each other and with the community. More than 30 people attended the first organizational meeting. Today, the guild has 250 members not only from Oregon and Washington, but from more than 13 states and Canada. “We have guild members from all walks of life. Some have just made their first basket, others are collectors or professional basket makers, many teach basketry, some sell basketry supplies, and others just love baskets. The appreciation of and love for baskets is what we all have in common”
