August 2022: Megan Gossett
Megan Gossett is a just-functioning Solipsist whose engagements with the supposed collective reality tend toward the artistic objective, employing oil paints and spirits on canvas, cardboard, and wood to explicate the egregious experience of mental illness and assumed femininity within the framework of both the ontological and anatomical figurative. Primarily non-linear but narrative-driven, their works aim to dissolve any solidity in one’s sense of self, of sociopolitical standard, and of modern modes of “appropriate” expression and behavior--especially where the psychological and inter-ontological are concerned--in order to challenge one’s existing faculties of objectification, purpose, and, most significantly, reality.
